Welcome to our new look website!

Jul 01, 2019
Oak Road Family Practice has always been dedicated to the health of the community it serves. To support this mission, we have just launched our new look website. With a new easy to use layout, informative health related articles and a simple online booking system, the new site will become the main point of contact with many of our new and returning patients.

As a person living in the Sutherland Shire, it is reassuring to know which clinics offer what services. While a General Practice is your reliable first point of call for any medical concern, it is reassuring to know any speciality services offered. Our new website clearly outlines the services we offer and our doctor profiles outlining their own areas of expertise.

Many people nowadays turn to ‘Dr Google’ when it comes to medical questions. While being informed about medical matters is important, it is equally important to obtain information from reliable sources. Our online health articles will share facts, figures and informative medical news to keep you aware of local and more general health related issues from skin cancer checks to yellow fever vaccinations.

Part of the principles that are dear to our family practice is being easy to deal with and using technology that enhances our patient’s experience. We are now pleased to offer a simple online appointment booking system so you can select your preferred doctor and see their available time and dates that match your own. This system is monitored closely by our friendly reception staff who ensure you are kept informed of any last-minute changes to your doctor’s schedule to minimise your wait time.

We hope you enjoy the new online experience. You can be assured you will still be treated to the same high-quality health care you when you walk in the doors of our clinic. To book your next appointment we welcome you to try the online appointment booking system, or if you’re not quite ready, you can always call us on 02 9521 1790.

Relocating from Sutherland Family Practice

If you have symptoms of Covid-19 and have been tested either through your local doctor, or a designated Covid-19 testing clinic, you must self-isolate until either advised by your doctor or you receive a SMS message from NSW Health Pathology advising you of the result of your test. Over the last few weeks, there have been an increase of positive Covid-19 cases confirmed as a result of people not affectively self-isolating from the time they go for the test, to when their results have been received. NSW Health has released a self-isolation guidelines document for people suspected to have Covid-19 and what process they should take to eliminate any potential spread of the virus. It covers common questions, such as: How long do I need to remain in isolation? What symptoms should I be monitoring? Am I allowed to go to work or school? Can I have visitors to my home? Can I go out in the garden? How do I separate myself from the home? When should I wear my mask? Do the members of my household need to also isolate? As well as tips for you and your family to help cope with home isolation. Click here to view the NSW Health Self-isolation Guidelines.
